Joan M. Wolf

Joan M. Wolf has been writing since she was old enough to hold a pencil. She began at the age of three when she kicked her dad off his manual typewriter and started typing away. She has been writing ever since. Born in Dickinson, North Dakota, she grew up in Rapid City, South Dakota. Now, she resides in Minnesota, following the rule that she must always reside in a state that ends in "ota."

She is both a teacher and a writer and has published books for teachers and young adults. Her award-winning first novel, Someone Named Eva, addresses a little-known aspect of World War II. When she isn't teaching or writing, she is walking one of the 10,000 lakes in Minnesota.

Joan feels really lucky to have found two jobs that keep her challenged and happy! She writes, teaches, reads books, and enjoys chocolate. She has been a public school teacher in Minnesota for a long time, teaching everything from primary ages to adults. Although she has written a lot, she has published five books so far. Four of them are for teachers, and one is for kids/young adults.
