Jo Knowles is a prolific author known for her engaging books for kids and teens. Her works include Ear Worm!, Meant To Be, and See You at Harry's. She is actively available for school, library, and book club visits either in person or via Zoom.
Jo grew up in a quaint, old farmhouse in a small town in New Hampshire, surrounded by a plethora of animals, including dogs, cats, chickens, and her beloved pony, Smoky. Her love for reading was ignited in high school, inspired by Robert Cormier's The Chocolate War, a powerful book that converted her into an avid reader and ultimately a writer.
Her parents ran various businesses, including an ice cream factory and a restaurant, where young Jo had many adventures, some of which she chronicled amusingly in her youth. Jo's journey into writing flourished during college while she pursued children's literature and wrote her first YA novel for her graduate thesis.
Now residing in Vermont with her family, Jo continues to write and teach in the MFA program at Southern New Hampshire University. She also travels to schools and libraries to discuss her passion for books and writing.
