Jesús Ricardo Iglesias was a racing driver from Argentina, born on February 22, 1922, in Pergamino. He found his passion in the world of motorsports, initially achieving success in long-distance races within his home country, utilizing a Chevrolet Special as his vehicle of choice.
Iglesias's prowess caught the attention of the prestigious racing team Gordini, who invited him to pilot one of their works Gordini Type 16s during the 1955 Argentine Grand Prix. Despite qualifying in the respectable 17th position out of 22 racers, his race was cut short on the 38th lap due to a transmission failure. The intense heat of the day also took its toll, pushing him towards the limits of exhaustion.
Following his brief foray into Formula One, Iglesias returned to his roots in endurance racing, concentrating on events held in Argentina. His skill and dedication were particularly evident during the Rafaela 500-mile race in 1956, where he clinched an impressive second place, once again behind the wheel of his trusty Chevrolet Special.
