Jeffrey Hudson (1619 – c. 1682) was a distinguished court dwarf of the English queen Henrietta Maria of France. Known as the "Queen's dwarf" and "Lord Minimus," he was celebrated as one of the "wonders of the age" due to his remarkable but well-proportioned small stature.
Hudson participated in the English Civil War on the side of the Royalists and accompanied the Queen to France. However, his time at court ended when he was expelled after killing a man in a duel.
He endured a dramatic turn of events when captured by Barbary pirates, leading to 25 years of enslavement in North Africa. Eventually, he was ransomed and returned to England.
