Jeanne Ryan has lived all over the world, being raised in a large family with eleven brothers and sisters. Her early childhood was spent in Hawaii, and she spent much of her growing-up years trying to figure out a way to return there, with stops in South Korea, Michigan, and Germany along the way.

Before venturing into fiction writing, Jeanne tried her hand at various professions, including war game simulation and youth development research. However, she discovered that crafting stories was much more enjoyable than working with statistics.

Though she still loves Hawaii, Jeanne has found her home under the moody skies of the Pacific Northwest.
