Henry Roth was an American novelist and short story writer.

He was born on February 8, 1906 in Tysmenitz, Galicia, and passed away on October 13, 1995 in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Roth found success later in life after his 1934 novel Call It Sleep was reissued in paperback in 1964.
