At the age of 19, after completing high school in France, Musso traveled to the United States. He spent several months in New York City, living with other young foreigners and supporting himself by selling ice-cream. His time in the United States profoundly influenced his work, with many of his novels featuring settings and action overseas.

Currently, Musso resides in the south of France, where he continues to teach in a high school while crafting his novels. His first published novel was with Editions Anne, marking the beginning of his successful literary career.
