George Samuel Clason, better known as George S. Clason, was an American author, soldier, businessman, and writer, renowned for his work The Richest Man in Babylon. Born in Louisiana, Missouri, and passing away in Napa, California, Clason led a diverse and impactful life.
During his eighty-two years, Clason made significant contributions in various fields. He served in the United States Army during the Spanish-American War, showcasing his dedication to his country. Following his military service, Clason ventured into the business world, establishing two companies: the Clason Map Company of Denver, Colorado, and the Clason Publishing Company. His Clason Map Company holds the distinction of being the first to publish a road atlas of the United States and Canada. However, it did not survive the Great Depression.
