Fritjof Capra is an Austrian-born American author, physicist, systems theorist, and deep ecologist. Born on February 1, 1939, Capra has made significant contributions to the understanding of the interconnectedness of societal, ecological, and scientific systems.
In 1995, he became a founding director of the Center for Ecoliteracy in Berkeley, California, a hub for ecological education and innovation. Capra has also been affiliated with Schumacher College, an international center for ecological studies.
Among his notable works are several influential books such as The Tao of Physics (1975), The Turning Point (1982), Uncommon Wisdom (1988), The Web of Life (1996), and The Hidden Connections (2002). He also co-authored The Systems View of Life in 2014, further exploring the interdependence of life systems.
