Esmé Weijun Wang is an acclaimed American writer known for her contributions to literature and mental health advocacy. She has received recognition for her novel, The Border of Paradise (2016) and her acclaimed collection of essays, The Collected Schizophrenias (2019), which won the Graywolf Press Non-Fiction Prize. In 2017, she was named to Granta Magazine's decennial list of the Best of Young American Novelists. Esmé is also an award-winning mental health advocate and speaker, as well as a talented journalist and essayist.
Esmé Weijun Wang pursued her education at prestigious institutions such as Yale University, Stanford University, and the University of Michigan, where she earned her MFA.
She is the recipient of a Whiting Award and lives in San Francisco.
