David Grossman (Hebrew: דויד גרוסמן; born January 25, 1954) is a renowned Israeli author. His works have been translated into more than 30 languages, showcasing his global appeal and literary prowess. In 2018, Grossman was honored with the prestigious Israel Prize for literature.

Grossman was born in Jerusalem and pursued studies in philosophy and drama at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. He later worked as an editor and broadcaster at Israel Radio, further enriching his understanding of storytelling and narrative.

Over his illustrious career, Grossman has penned seven novels, a play, numerous short stories and novellas, as well as books for children and youth. His non-fiction works, which include interviews with Palestinians and Israeli Arabs, reflect his deep engagement with cultural and political issues.

Throughout his career, Grossman has been the recipient of numerous literary awards, including the Valumbrosa Prize in Italy, the Eliette von Karajan Prize in Austria, the Nelly Sachs Prize (1991), the Premio Grinzane, the Premio Mondelo for The Zig-Zag Kid (Italy, 1996), the Vittorio de Sica Prize in Italy, the Juliet Club Prize, and the Marsh Award for Children's Literature.
