David Fishelson

David J. Fishelson (born July 24, 1956) is an acclaimed American producer, playwright, and director for film, theatre, television, and radio, based in Manhattan since 1982. Fishelson has carved a niche in the entertainment industry with a career that spans several decades and encompasses a wide range of creative endeavors.

He is best known for being the lead producer of Golda's Balcony, the longest-running one-woman show in Broadway history (2003–05). This monumental achievement was further solidified by his production of a feature motion picture, Golda's Balcony (2019 film), which saw popularity across over 75 film festivals in 2019-20. Additionally, Fishelson's role as the founder and producer of Manhattan Ensemble Theatre, an award-winning Off-Broadway theatre company located in SoHo, New York City, highlights his significant contribution to the theatre scene.

As a filmmaker, his work has not only been broadcast on PBS but has also been exhibited theatrically and selected for 87 international film festivals, winning at 30 of these. His theatre production and playwriting efforts, both on Broadway and off, have earned him 31 nominations from prestigious awards organizations, including the Tony, Drama Desk, Outer Critics Circle, Obie, Drama League, Lortel, Blackburn Prize, and Touring Broadway awards, winning 11 of these nominations. Fishelson's work has also been recognized on Time Out NY's year-end "Best in Theatre" list on four different occasions, marking his lasting impact on the industry.
