D.M. Cornish, full name David M. Cornish, is a renowned illustrator and fantasy writer from Adelaide, South Australia. Born in 1972, he is best known for his compelling fantasy series, Monster Blood Tattoo.
Cornish's passion for fantasy was ignited at the age of five when he watched the first Star Wars movie, inspiring him to explore worlds beyond his own. His admiration for authors like C.S. Lewis and J.R.R. Tolkien further fueled his belief in the existence of other worlds, accessible through the power of storytelling.
While words became an essential tool for his storytelling, drawing was his first means of expression, and he spent much of his childhood immersed in creating art. His debut book, Foundling, is the first part of the Monster Blood Tattoo trilogy. The second book, Lamplighter, was released in May 2008.
