Charles Patrick Hogan, known professionally as Chuck Hogan, is an accomplished American novelist, screenwriter, and television producer. He gained widespread recognition as the author of Prince of Thieves, and his collaboration with Guillermo del Toro on The Strain trilogy, which later inspired their co-created television series The Strain (2014β2017).
Hogan's repertoire extends into the realm of crime novels, with noteworthy titles such as The Standoff (1995), The Blood Artists (1998), The Killing Moon (2007), and The Devils In Exiles (2010). His adeptness in storytelling also shines in the film industry, where he penned the screenplay for the war film 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi (2016). His novel Prince of Thieves (2004) was notably adapted into Ben Affleck's Academy Award-nominated film The Town (2010), earning the 2005 Hammett Prize and high praise from Stephen King as one of the ten best novels of the year. Hogan's short story "Two Thousand Volts" also appeared in The Best American Mystery Stories 2009.
