Chetan Bhagat

Chetan Prakash Bhagat is an Indian author, columnist, screenwriter, and YouTuber. He was born on 22 April 1974 and has been recognized as one of Time magazine's World's 100 Most Influential People in 2010. Bhagat's notable works include novels that have been adapted into movies, such as One Night @ the Call Center and Half Girlfriend.

Chetan Bhagat writes op-ed columns for prominent English and Hindi newspapers, including the Times of India and Dainik Bhaskar, with a strong focus on youth and national development issues. He is also a motivational speaker, having given talks at leading multinational corporations and institutions. Bhagat left his international investment banking career in 2009 to dedicate his time to writing.

In 2008, The New York Times referred to Bhagat as "the biggest selling English language novelist in India’s history". A graduate of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi and IIM Ahmedabad, Bhagat is viewed more as a youth icon than merely an author.
