Chetan Prakash Bhagat is an Indian author, columnist, screenwriter, and YouTuber. He was born on 22 April 1974. Bhagat gained significant recognition when he was listed in Time magazine's list of the World's 100 Most Influential People in 2010. He has authored numerous novels, two of which have been adapted into movies: One Night @ the Call Center and Half Girlfriend.
Bhagat is known for writing op-ed columns for prominent English and Hindi newspapers such as Times of India and Dainik Bhaskar, focusing on youth and issues related to national development. He is also a motivational speaker and has delivered talks at leading multinational corporations and other institutions. In 2008, The New York Times described Bhagat as "the biggest selling English language novelist in Indiaβs history".
He is a graduate of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi and IIM Ahmedabad. In 2009, Bhagat left his career in international investment banking to dedicate himself entirely to writing. Bhagat is regarded as more of a youth icon than just an author.
