Charlie Jane Anders

Charlie Jane Anders is an acclaimed American writer known for her contributions to the literary and science fiction communities. Born on July 24, 1969, Anders has penned several novels, shorter fiction, and has been active in publishing magazines and websites. She is also recognized for her work in hosting podcasts.

In 2005, Anders was honored with the Lambda Literary Award for her contributions to transgender literature. Her literary prowess continued to garner recognition with the Emperor Norton Award in 2009. Anders achieved significant acclaim with her 2011 novelette Six Months, Three Days, which won the 2012 Hugo Award and was a finalist for both the Nebula and Theodore Sturgeon Awards. However, it was her 2016 novel All the Birds in the Sky that cemented her reputation as a leading science fiction author, earning her a spot in Time magazine's "Top 10 Novels" of 2016, the 2017 Nebula Award for Best Novel, the 2017 Crawford Award, and the 2017 Locus Award for Best Fantasy Novel. The novel was also a finalist for the 2017 Hugo Award for Best Novel.

Alongside her partner Annalee Newitz, Anders won the 2019 Hugo Award for "Best Fancast" for their podcast "Our Opinions Are Correct".
