Carolyn Jessop is an American author and a former member of the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (FLDS). She gained recognition for her book, Escape, which is an autobiographical account of her upbringing in the polygamist sect and her subsequent escape from that community. Her work offers a vivid insight into life within the FLDS.

Carolyn is the cousin, by marriage, of Flora Jessop, another former FLDS member who advocates for abused children. She resides in the Salt Lake City area with her children. In 2010, she became engaged to Brian Moroney, who proposed to her in front of her children, an event that brought much joy to her family. Expressing her happiness, she quoted on her Facebook page, "Choice is a beautiful thing!"
