Carl Honoré is a Canadian journalist and the author of the internationally best-selling book In Praise of Slow (2004), which explores the Slow Movement.
Born in Scotland on 29 December 1967, Honoré considers Edmonton, Canada as his hometown. He graduated from the University of Edinburgh with a degree in History and Italian and worked with street children in Brazil, an experience that inspired him to pursue a career in journalism.
Since 1991, Honoré has reported from across Europe and South America, spending three years as a correspondent in Buenos Aires. His work has been featured in numerous publications, including The Economist, The Observer, American Way, National Post, Globe and Mail, Houston Chronicle, and the Miami Herald. He has appeared on television programs such as Fox and Friends and Dennis Miller and was highlighted in Newsweek.
In 2008, he published Under Pressure: Rescuing Our Children from the Culture of Hyper-Parenting, advocating for a more relaxed approach to parenting, known as slow parenting.
Carl Honoré currently resides in London with his wife, Miranda France, and their two children.
