Bryan Mealer

Bryan Mealer is an American journalist and author. Born on January 23, 1974, he has authored four notable books including All Things Must Fight to Live, which details his experiences covering war in the Congo, and the New York Times bestseller The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind, co-authored with inventor William Kamkwamba. Another significant work, Muck City, explores high school football in rural African American communities in Florida. His book The Kings of Big Spring delves into his family history in Texas.

Mealer's journalism has been featured in publications such as The Guardian and Texas Monthly. His work has appeared in the anthology Best American Travel Writing and has been recognized with an Overseas Press Club Award Citation.

The 2019 film The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind was adapted from his book of the same name. Bryan Mealer and his family reside in Austin, Texas.
