Borisav "Bora" Stanković was a renowned Serbian writer belonging to the school of realism. Born on March 31, 1876, and passing on October 22, 1927, Stanković's work focuses on the depiction of life in Southern Serbia.

He is celebrated as part of an exceptional group of storytellers from the turn of the 20th century, alongside notable names such as Ivo Ćipiko, Petar Kočić, Milutin Uskoković, Svetolik Ranković, and Veljko Milićević.
