Bill Jemas is an American media entrepreneur, writer, and editor, known for his tenure as president of the Fleer Entertainment Group during the 1990s. He also served as vice president of Marvel Comics from 2000 to 2004.
During his time at Marvel, Jemas, alongside editor-in-chief Joe Quesada, implemented various pivotal policies, such as Marvel's no-overship policy and newsstand compilation magazines. They added the Marvel MAX line, fortified the Marvel Knights imprint, removed the Comics Code from Marvel books, and increased Marvel's publication of trade paperbacks.
Jemas is credited with helping to shepherd Marvel Comics from bankruptcy to profitability, earning positive reviews from both within and outside the comics industry. Despite his successes, he was also a controversial figure, often criticized for micromanagement and making provocative public statements.
