Barry Lyga

Barry Lyga is an American young adult novelist and short story writer, born on September 11, 1971. Known for his diverse themes and genres, Lyga has captivated readers with his engaging storytelling and complex characters.

Raised on a steady diet of comic books, he spent ten years working at Diamond Comic Distributors after graduating with a BA in English from Yale in 1993. During this time, he also published several short stories. Despite the criticism that comic books would rot his brain, Lyga has become a celebrated author with a portfolio that includes everything from the aftermath of child abuse to pre-teens with superpowers and serial killers.

His first novel, The Astonishing Adventures of Fanboy & Goth Girl, marked the beginning of his literary career, which has spanned numerous genres and topics. Some of his notable works include Archvillain and I Hunt Killers.

Lyga now writes full-time and resides in New York, continuing to challenge and entertain readers with his unique perspective and creative narratives.
