Audrey Wood

Audrey Wood is an American children's author born on August 12, 1948. She is most renowned for her popular book, The Napping House, which has sold over 2.1 million copies worldwide as of 2015. Audrey resides in Santa Barbara, California, and has had a diverse career that includes studying art and drama at the Arkansas Art Center in Little Rock, Arkansas.

Throughout her career, Audrey has owned and operated a book and import store, taught children's drama and art, and traveled extensively in Mexico and Guatemala to study Indian folk art. Her family, including her husband Don and son Bruce, both of whom have illustrated some of her books, share her artistic pursuits. Audrey Wood currently lives in Hawaii with her family.
