Anne Holm, born Else Anne Jørgensen on September 10, 1922, was a celebrated Danish journalist and children's writer. Throughout her career, she also wrote under the pseudonym Adrien de Chandelle.

Her works are primarily aimed at children aged 8 to 16, yet they possess elements that resonate with adult readers as well. Her most renowned book, I Am David (1963), tells the poignant story of a 12-year-old boy who escapes from a concentration camp and journeys across Europe. This remarkable tale of freedom and hope was adapted into a film in 2003 and received the ALA Notable Book award in 1965, among other accolades.

Another popular work by Holm is Peter (1966), which explores the adventures of a teenager traveling through ancient Greece and medieval England. Anne Holm passed away on December 27, 1998, leaving behind a legacy of inspiring literature for both young and mature audiences.
