Alice May Oseman is an English author and illustrator of young adult fiction, born on 16 October 1994. She secured her first publishing deal at the age of 17 and published her debut novel Solitaire in 2014.
Her novels, including Radio Silence, I Was Born for This, and Loveless, are all stand-alone works set in the same extended universe. These books focus on contemporary teenage life in the UK and have been praised for their realism, LGBTQIA+ inclusion, and portrayal of mental health struggles. Oseman has received several awards for her work, including the Silver Inky Award, a British Book Award, and three Goodreads Choice Awards.
In addition to her novels, Alice Oseman is the creative force behind the webcomic and graphic novel series Heartstopper, which has been adapted into a critically acclaimed TV series. This adaptation has earned her a BAFTA TV Award nomination and two Children's and Family Emmy Awards as both a writer and producer.
