Alexandra Horowitz is a Senior Research Fellow and Adjunct Associate Professor within the English and Psychology Departments at Barnard College. She is the director of the Horowitz Dog Cognition Lab at Barnard.
Horowitz is the author of the New York Times bestseller, "Inside of a Dog: What Dogs See, Smell, and Know." Her studies on dogs have explored their ‘guilty look,’ sense of fairness, play signaling, and olfactory abilities, among other topics.
She received her M.S. and Ph.D. in Cognitive Science from the University of California, San Diego, and a B.A. in Philosophy from the University of Pennsylvania.
