Alexandra Fuller

Alexandra Fuller is a British-Zimbabwean author known for her poignant writings that delve into her experiences in Africa and beyond. Born in Glossop, Derbyshire, England in 1969, she has lived an expansive life across continents, spending significant time in Zimbabwe and the United States. Her articles and reviews have appeared in prominent publications such as The New Yorker, National Geographic, Granta, The New York Times, The Guardian, and The Financial Times.

Her debut work, Don't Let's Go to the Dogs Tonight: An African Childhood, was published in 2001 and was recognized as a New York Times Notable Book for 2002, winning the 2002 Booksense best non-fiction book award and the Winifred Holtby Memorial Prize. Another significant work, Scribbling the Cat: Travels with an African Soldier, published in 2004, won the Ulysses Prize for Art of Reportage.
