Alejandro Casona

Alejandro Rodríguez Álvarez, known as Alejandro Casona, was a renowned Spanish poet and playwright.

Born on 23 March 1903 in Besullo, Spain, Casona was a member of the famous Generation of '27.

He received his bachelor's degree in Gijon and continued his studies at the University of Murcia.

Due to political upheaval after Franco's rise in 1936, Casona, alongside many Spanish intellectuals, was forced to leave Spain.

He subsequently resided in Buenos Aires, Argentina, where he lived until April 1962, before returning permanently to Spain.
