Adam Mansbach

Adam Mansbach (born July 1, 1976) is an American author renowned for his #1 New York Times bestseller, Go the Fuck to Sleep. This book, translated into forty languages, was named Time Magazine's 2011 "Thing of the Year," selling over three million copies worldwide.

Mansbach's acclaimed novels include Rage is Back, The End of the Jews (winner of the California Book Award), and Angry Black White Boy. His novel Angry Black White Boy is widely taught in schools and was adapted into a prize-winning stage play in 2008.

He co-authored the middle grades series, Jake the Fake Keeps it Real, which was a Scholastic Book Club Main Selection and won the 2021 Grand Canyon Readers Award. Additionally, his collaborations with Dave Barry and Alan Zweibel include For This We Left Egypt, a finalist for the Thurber Award for American Humor, and the bestselling A Field Guide to the Jewish People.

Mansbach's debut screenplay for the Netflix Original BARRY (2016) was nominated for an Independent Spirit Award and an NAACP Image Award. He has also adapted DL Hughley's book How Not to Get Shot for Comedy Central and is working on the forthcoming feature film, SUPER HIGH, starring Andy Samberg, Craig Robinson, and Common.

As a political consultant, Mansbach is the recipient of awards including the Reed Award, Webby Award, and Gold Pollie for his 2012 campaign video "Wake The Fuck Up," starring Samuel L. Jackson. His creative direction at Colehouse Walker Political Outcomes includes work with notable figures such as Daveed Diggs and Killer Mike.

Adam Mansbach has served as the New Voices Professor of Fiction at Rutgers University (2009-2011) and has been recognized as a Sundance Screenwriting Lab Fellow and a Berkeley Repertory Theatre Writing Fellow.

His memoir in verse, I Had A Brother Once, was published by One World/Random House.
