Wendy Mass

Wendy Mass is an American author born on April 22, 1967. She is renowned for her young adult novels and children's books. Her 2003 novel, A Mango-Shaped Space, won the American Library Association (ALA) Schneider Family Book Award for Middle School in 2004. Some of her other notable works include 11 Birthdays, A Mango-Shaped Space, and Every Soul a Star.

Mass's novel Jeremy Fink and the Meaning of Life was adapted into a feature film in 2011. She is also the author of over thirty novels for young people, including the Twice Upon a Time fairy tale series, Heaven Looks a Lot Like the Mall, and the Willow Falls, Space Taxi, and Candymakers series.

Wendy wrote the storyline for an episode of the television show Monk, entitled "Mr. Monk Goes to the Theatre," which aired during the show's second season. Although she tells people her hobbies are hiking and photography, she really enjoys collecting candy bar wrappers and searching for buried treasure with her metal detector. Wendy lives with her family in New Jersey.
