Wayne A. Grudem is an American New Testament scholar, theologian, seminary professor, and author. He was born on February 11, 1948, in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin. Grudem is a professor of theology and biblical studies at Phoenix Seminary in Phoenix, Arizona.
He earned his undergraduate degree at Harvard University, as well as an MDiv from Westminster Seminary. He also holds a PhD from the University of Cambridge and a DD from Westminster Theological Seminary.
Grudem is the former president of the Evangelical Theological Society, a cofounder and past president of the Council on Biblical Manhood and Womanhood, and a member of the Translation Oversight Committee for the English Standard Version of the Bible. He is also the general editor of the ESV Study Bible and has published over 20 books including Systematic Theology, Evangelical Feminism, Politics—According to the Bible, and many others.
