Warren Fellows

Warren Fellows (13 September 1953 โ€“ 14 January 2022) was an Australian former drug courier who became widely known for his experiences in the Thai prison system.

Fellows was sentenced to life imprisonment in Thailand in 1978 for his role in a heroin trafficking operation that ran from Perth to Bangkok. His best-known work, The Damage Done, is a best-selling book where he recounts the violence and harsh conditions he endured while imprisoned in Thailand.

Born in Sydney, Australia, Fellows was the son of Bill Fellows, a champion jockey and horse trainer who notably won the 1949 Melbourne Cup on Foxzami. During his school years, Warren was nearly expelled for operating a horse betting business from his desk.

After spending over a decade in prison, Fellows was released on 11 January 1990 after receiving a royal pardon.
