Vivian Vande Velde

Vivian Vande Velde is an American author known for her engaging works of fiction primarily aimed at children and young adults. Born on June 18, 1951, she has spent most of her life in Rochester, New York.

Her writing is characterized by its humor and often incorporates elements of fantasy and horror. One of her notable works, Never Trust a Dead Man, received the 2000 Edgar Award for Best Young Adult Novel.

Vivian's Journey as a Writer: Vivian's passion for storytelling began at a young age. She was inspired by her parents, who encouraged her to pursue her dreams. After marrying Jim Vande Velde and becoming a mother, she decided to focus on writing, resulting in her first book, A Hidden Magic.

Vivian actively participates in school talks, book conventions, and writing classes, sharing her expertise and love for writing with aspiring authors.
