Victoria Holt

Eleanor Alice Hibbert (née Burford; 1 September 1906 – 18 January 1993) was a renowned English writer of historical romances. With a prolific output, she published several books each year under various pseudonyms, including Victoria Holt for gothic romances, Jean Plaidy for fictionalized history, and Philippa Carr for a multi-generational family saga.
