Tracy Raye Hickman is a renowned American fantasy author and designer of games and virtual reality (VR) experiences. Born on November 26, 1955, in Salt Lake City, Utah, he has co-authored the original Dragonlance novels with Margaret Weis and numerous other books. He has also designed role-playing game material for TSR and collaborated on novels with his wife, Laura Hickman. Tracy Hickman is known for his contributions to over 60 books.
Tracy graduated from Provo High School in 1974 and has worked in various roles, including as a supermarket stockboy, a movie projectionist, and a theater manager. He served as a missionary in Indonesia for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints from 1975 to 1977. Tracy married his high school sweetheart, Laura Curtis, and they have four children.
In 1981, he joined TSR, where he developed the Dragonlance Chronicles project, which became a massive success. Tracy and Margaret Weis authored over 30 novels together, including the Darksword trilogy, the Death Gate Cycle, and the Sovereign Stone trilogy. Tracy has also written solo novels like "Requiem of Stars" and "The Immortals."
Tracy continues to be an active member of his church and resides with his wife in South Jordan, Utah. He pursues hobbies such as guitar playing, singing, and model building while maintaining an interest in computer games and TV production.
