Tommy Orange is an American novelist and writer, best known for his critically acclaimed debut novel, There There. Born on January 19, 1982, in the Dimond District of Oakland, California, Orange has become a prominent voice in contemporary literature.
Orange's groundbreaking work, There There, earned him recognition as a finalist for the 2019 Pulitzer Prize and the recipient of the 2019 American Book Award. His literary contributions extend beyond this novel; he is a 2014 MacDowell Fellow and a 2016 Writing by Writers Fellow. Orange's education includes a master's degree in Fine Arts from the Institute of American Indian Arts, where he later graduated from their MFA program.
