Tia Williams

Tia Williams is an accomplished American novelist and editor with a distinctive presence in the fashion industry. After graduating from the University of Virginia in 1997, Williams moved to New York City to embark on a prolific career as a beauty editor for esteemed publications such as Elle, Glamour, Lucky, Teen People, and Essence.

In 2004, she broke new ground by pioneering the beauty blog industry with her award-winning site, Shake Your Beauty. That same year, she published her debut novel, The Accidental Diva, which received widespread acclaim in media outlets like Marie Claire, Cosmopolitan, Allure, and The New York Times. Williams has since co-written Iman's makeup memoir, The Beauty of Color, and authored two young adult novels, It Chicks and Sixteen Candles.

Her 2016 novel, The Perfect Find, won the African-American Literary Award for Best Fiction and was celebrated in publications such as The Washington Post, Essence, Cosmopolitan, People, Ebony, and InStyle. In 2023, its film adaptation starring Gabrielle Union was released on Netflix. Williams's novel Seven Days in June became an instant New York Times and USA Today bestseller, and was selected as Reese's Book Club pick for June 2021. A TV series adaptation is currently in development with Will Packer Productions.

Williams is set to continue her literary journey with the upcoming novel, A Love Song for Ricki Wilde, set to be published on February 6, 2024. Beyond her writing, she serves as the editorial director for the Estรฉe Lauder Companies. Tia Williams resides in Brooklyn with her daughter and husband.
