Teresa Medeiros is an American award-winning romance novelist. She was born on October 26, 1962, and wrote her first novel at the age of 21. Before becoming an author, she was a nurse. Medeiros is known for her books appearing on The New York Times Best Seller list.

She is a two-time Fantasy, Futuristic, and Paranormal Romance Writers PRISM Award winner and a two-time recipient of the Waldenbooks Award for bestselling fiction. Additionally, she is a charter member of the Romance Writers of America Honor Roll and a member of Kentucky Romance Writers and Novelists, Inc.

Medeiros currently resides in Kentucky with her husband and her cats, Buffy the Mouse Slayer and Willow Tum-Tum. She has more than 10 million books in print and is a seven-time Rita finalist.
