Tamara Ireland Stone spent nearly two decades in the technology industry before she began writing middle grade and young adult fiction. She feels lucky to say she's had two careers she's loved.
Her New York Times bestseller, Every Last Word, won the Cybils Young Adult Fiction Award, the Georgia Peach Book Award, and was a YALSA Teens' Top Ten pick; Little Do We Know won the NCIBA Golden Poppy Award for Young Adult Fiction; and her debut novel, Time Between Us, has been published in over twenty languages. The first book in her middle-grade series, Click'd, was a Sunshine State Young Readers Award pick, a Kids' Indie Next pick, a Cybils Award Nominee, and an NCIBA Golden Poppy nominee. Tamara is a proud nerd, vinyl collector, and movie lover.
She worked with Apple in the '90s, leading the PR team that launched the first iMac and meeting with Steve Jobs weekly. Her experience on the Think Different campaign team was life-changing, teaching her to appreciate "the crazy ones."
All her books share a common theme: female lead characters who save themselves in the end. She has been collecting Post-it notes from her book signings since 2012, cherishing the connection to her readers. Stone lives in the San Francisco Bay Area and enjoys sharing her passion for storytelling, inspired by her varied experiences and the power of music.
Notable recognitions include New York Times Best Seller (Every Last Word), Northern California Golden Poppy Book Awards Winner (Little Do We Know), and several nominations and awards in young adult and middle-grade fiction categories.
