Steven S. DeKnight is an acclaimed American filmmaker, scriptwriter, television producer, and director. He carved a niche for himself in the world of television with his exceptional work on the Starz series Spartacus, which includes Spartacus: Blood and Sand, Spartacus: Gods of the Arena, Spartacus: Vengeance, and Spartacus: War of the Damned. His creative prowess extends beyond this series, as he also played a significant role in developing the series Jupiter's Legacy for Netflix.
Apart from his groundbreaking work on Spartacus, DeKnight has contributed to other cult-classic series such as Smallville, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and Angel. He also penned the story Swell, featured in the eighth season comic series of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and served as a production consultant on the television series Dollhouse.
In 2014, DeKnight took over as showrunner for the television series Daredevil, after Drew Goddard's departure.
