Stephanie Wrobel

Stephanie Wrobel is the acclaimed author of This Might Hurt and Darling Rose Gold, an international bestseller that has sold in twenty-one countries and was a finalist for the Edgar Award for Best First Novel. Her third book, The Hitchcock Hotel, is set to be published in Fall 2024. She currently resides in New York City.

Growing up in the suburbs of Chicago, Stephanie frequently visited the library, indulging in series like Baby-Sitters Club, Nancy Drew, and The Thoroughbred series. Her initial foray into writing began as a child, crafting stories with the aid of her mother. A notable early work was How Mary Ann Got Lost at the Zoo, complete with computer graphics.

Post-college, Stephanie embarked on a career as a copywriter for advertising agencies in Chicago, developing campaigns for major brands such as Coors, McDonald's, and Capital One. In 2014, she relocated to London, which spurred her to pursue graduate studies in creative writing.

Attending Emerson College in Boston in 2016 proved transformational, marking her serious commitment to writing. Her debut novel, Darling Rose Gold, emerged from this period, achieving critical and commercial success upon its publication in March 2020.

Her second novel, This Might Hurt, released in 2022, explores a gripping narrative about a woman attempting to rescue her sister from a fearlessness-promising cult.
