Sona Charaipotra

Sona Charaipotra is an American entertainment and lifestyle journalist, screenwriter, and a bestselling author of young adult fiction. She has worked as an editor at People, Parents.com, and other major media outlets. She is well-known for her YA literature column on Parade.com and her YA series Tiny Pretty Things, which became a Netflix original series.

Education and Career
Sona completed a BA in Journalism and American Studies, an MFA in Creative Writing, and a Master's in Dramatic Writing and South Asian Diaspora Studies. She worked as a celebrity reporter at People and TeenPeople magazines and contributed to publications like the New York Times and TeenVogue. She edited the Barnes & Noble Teen blog and co-founded CAKE Literary, a boutique book packaging company.

Personal Life
Sona was born in Iran but grew up in central New Jersey. She has been diagnosed with ADHD as an adult and is passionate about learning about neurodivergence. She lives in New York City with her writer husband and two kids and enjoys cooking and documenting street food finds on Instagram.
