Sherry Jones

Sherry Jones is an American journalist and internationally best-selling author, renowned for her controversial work The Jewel of Medina and other historical fiction books. She is also known for her forthcoming novel, The Five Wives of Billy Tipton, which delves into the real-life story of transgender musician Billy Tipton. The novel highlights Tipton's marriages with five women, the last three of whom were unaware of his biological gender. The book is filled with Tipton's humor, wit, and the vibrant personalities of the women he loved, taking readers on a musical journey through the American Midwest of the 1930s and 40s, as well as an exploration of a woman living for her dreams.

Sherry Jones is inspired by real-life women who have led remarkable lives filled with courage and passion. Her historical novels feature women such as Josephine Baker, a famous 20th-century African-American dancer, comic, and singer who was also a spy for the French Resistance during WWII; A’isha bint Abi Bakr, youngest wife of the Prophet Muhammad; the four Sisters of Savoy who became queens in Europe; Blanche de Castille, known as the formidable White Queen of 12th-century France; and Heloise d’Argenteuil, a 12th-century scholar renowned for her intellect and love affair with Pierre Abelard.
