Shannon Hale

Shannon Hale (nรฉe Shannon Bryner) is a renowned American author primarily known for her work in young adult fantasy. She was born on January 26, 1974. Her acclaimed works include the Newbery Honor book Princess Academy and The Goose Girl.

Shannon Hale graduated from the University of Utah and the University of Montana. She expanded her literary repertoire with her first novel for adults, Austenland, which was adapted into a film in 2013.

Alongside her husband, Dean Hale, she co-authored the successful graphic novel Rapunzel's Revenge and its sequel Calamity Jack.

She resides near Salt Lake City, Utah with her family.
