Sean Stewart is a U.S.-Canadian science fiction and fantasy author, born on June 2, 1965, in Lubbock, Texas. He moved to Edmonton, Alberta, Canada in 1968. After living in various places including Houston, Texas, Vancouver, British Columbia, Irvine, California, and Monterey, California, he is currently residing in Davis, California with his wife and two daughters.

Sean Stewart received an Honors degree in English from the University of Alberta in 1987. He initially focused on writing novels but gradually transitioned to interactive fiction. He was the lead writer for the Web-based Alternate Reality Game The Beast and served as a consultant on other projects.
