Scott McEwen is a trial attorney in San Diego, California, and an accomplished author known for his intense interest in military history and patriotism. Growing up in the mountains of Eastern Oregon, McEwen embraced the outdoors, becoming an Eagle Scout and engaging in activities such as hiking, fishing, and hunting whenever possible. He pursued his undergraduate education in Oregon before moving to London, England, for further study and work experience.
McEwen's legal career is complemented by his dedication to military charitable organizations, including the Seal Team Foundation. His passion for military history and his experience with long-range hunting rifles inspired him to co-author American Sniper, the biography of Chris Kyle, the most lethal sniper in United States military history. The book became a #1 New York Times Bestseller, sold over one million copies, and was translated into more than twenty languages. American Sniper was later adapted into a highly successful film directed by Clint Eastwood and starring Bradley Cooper.
In addition to American Sniper, McEwen has written several other notable works, including Eyes on Target, a detailed account of the Navy SEALs, and the Sniper Elite series of novels, which began with Sniper Elite-One Way Trip. Based on true events, these novels have received critical acclaim and national bestseller status. His other works include City of Death, a non-fiction account of the battle of Mosul, and Camp Valor, an action-adventure series aimed at young adults.
McEwen's contributions to literature offer a compelling insight into the lives of America's military heroes, combining factual history with thrilling fiction. His works not only entertain but also pay tribute to the bravery and sacrifice of soldiers.
