Santiago Posteguillo

Santiago Posteguillo Gómez is a Spanish philologist, linguist, and author, born in Valencia in 1967. He is highly recognized for his novels set in Ancient Rome, particularly the Scipio Africanus and Trajan trilogies. Besides his literary work, he is a senior lecturer in English Language and Linguistics at the Universitat Jaume I in Castellón, Spain. Posteguillo holds the position of president at the European Association of Languages for Specific Purposes and is involved with editorial boards of international journals such as English for Specific Purposes and Written Communication. His notable contributions also include works like Netlinguistics: Language, Discourse and Ideology in Internet (2003) and the Spanish Computing Dictionary: English-Spanish, Spanish-English (2004).

Posteguillo has received numerous accolades for his historical novels, including the Best Historical Novelist award by Hislibris in 2009 and the Valencian Literature Award in 2010.
