Samantha Harvey is an English novelist born in 1975. She is known for her novel Orbital, which won the 2024 Booker Prize. The novel is celebrated for its integration of multiple genres, including literary fiction, science fiction, and philosophy.

Harvey has completed postgraduate courses in philosophy and Creative Writing. Besides her writing career, she has traveled extensively and taught in Japan, also having spent time living in Ireland and New Zealand. She is a co-founder of an environmental charity and resides in Bath, England.

Her first novel, The Wilderness, was shortlisted for the Orange Prize for Fiction 2009, longlisted for the 2009 Man Booker Prize, and won the 2009 Betty Trask Prize.
