S. Jae-Jones

S. Jae-Jones, often called JJ, is an artist, an adrenaline junkie, and the New York Times bestselling author of the Wintersong duology and the Guardians of Dawn series. Born and raised in Los Angeles, she now lives on the East Coast, where she must endure winter every year.

When she's not writing, JJ can be found working toward her next black belt degree in taekwondo, being run ragged by her twin dogs, Castor and Pollux, or indulging in her favorite hobby—collecting more hobbies. JJ has a skydiving license, is fluent in Korean, and describes herself as the neurodivergent equivalent of a combination Taco Bell and Pizza Hut due to her bipolar disorder and ADHD. She studied English and American Literature, as well as Art History, at NYU and met her partner while studying abroad in London.

JJ's other unique skills and hobbies include playing the piano, flute, harp, and guitar, fencing both foil and epée, learning Quenya and Sindarin in high school, and recognizing any episode of The X-Files based on Scully’s hair. Despite her dislike for doughnuts, she has a fondness for baby harp seals and once aspired to join SETI before realizing her lack of aptitude for math and science.
