Roderick Gordon is a British author, best known for his work on the Tunnels series, a bestselling children's book collection.
Born in November 1960, he grew up in Highgate, North London. He attended University College, where he explored genetics and was a fan of the band Joy Division.
After graduating, Gordon found himself without a clear career path. He spent a period playing in bands before moving into corporate finance at an investment bank in the City of London. However, in 2001, he was made redundant.
Embracing change, Roderick collaborated with a university friend to write a book, which they self-published in 2005 as The Highfield Mole. This book marked the beginning of his career in writing, leading to the successful publication of the Tunnels series.
